I'm a pursuer of the genuine. I believe that life is meant to be lived with a spirit of seeking truth. Creating art that speaks of the genuine, reminds of what really matters, and grapples with the difficult things in life, is part of my pursuit of truth. For me, creating art is about facing fear: fear of failure, fear of imperfection, fear of people’s opinions. It’s about dealing with a subject head-on, working through it not only in my mind, but also in a concrete way with wood, paper, wax, paints, and other materials. I hope that I can help people in some way. I want my life to make a difference.
